The dictionary defines it as "an adequate quantity or number; sufficiency"
That makes it sound like a positive thing.
But what if it's not. Why can't "enough" ever be enough?
Shouldn't the ugliness I bring upon myself be enough?
Shouldn't being pushed away from getting help be ENOUGH?
But no, it's not. Because enough is defined as a good thing, maybe? And neither of those are good things...?
Maybe I need positive motivation to get better. But what can I find, and where?

In Ecuador our leader Melissa would sometimes read us inspirational poems and such, and her favorite one was titled Enough. She'd read it to us when we were facing physical obstacles (aka mountain hiking), which for me meant emotional obstacles (aka I mentally was not the strongest when it came to hiking). I know you want to see it as a negative word, but this poem puts it in a positive light anyway... try using the word "enough" itself as your motivation to get better...
ReplyDeleteI wish you enough sun
to keep your attitude bright.
I wish you enough rain
to appreciate the sun more.
I wish you enough happiness
to keep your spirit alive.
I wish you enough pain
so that the smallest joys in life
appear much bigger.
I wish you enough gain
to satisfy your wanting.
I wish you enough loss
to appreciate all you possess.
I wish you enough hellos
to get you through the final goodbye.
It's kind of a cheesy poem, but your post reminded me of it. Try using what you've had enough of to appreciate what is there.
Good stuff.
